Indian Navy is a part of Government Defense & Merchant Navy is a part of private sector, means when u will qualify any written exam, interview according to requirment of navy so u will be select in Navy.

Merchant Navy is as like a private company, when u will do any certification & meet any consultancy so he can place u in merchant navy.
